Nothing makes Dr. Mustafa happier than seeing a patient who initially feels self-conscious about their smile reclaim their confidence through his care. He’s seen so many people’s personalities blossom just by meeting their dental needs, and it’s always rewarding. Before you meet him in person, you can start getting to know Dr. Mustafa by reading on below.
Elders in Dr. Mustafa’s family initially suggested that he go into dentistry, and he wasn’t that interested at first. That changed when he sustained a blunt trauma injury to his face. In his words, he was in “poor shape,” but the dentist who took care of him was kind, nurturing, and guided him through the process. Fast forward a few years, and he was interning in an oral surgeon’s office. One day, he was able to calm a nervous and agitated patient, and that experience showed him that dentistry would be a good fit for him.
Dr. Mustafa earned both his undergraduate and dental degrees from Rutgers University. He went on to complete a one-year maxi-course in dental implants at the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, and he also received advanced training to provide Botox, dermal fillers, and trigger point injections from the American Academy of Facial Aesthetics.
Over the years, he has also taken continuing education courses through the American Dental Association, New Jersey Dental Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Academy of General Dentistry, American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, and the Dawson Academy.
Dr. Mustafa comes from a large family that includes both Palestinian and Cuban descent, and he is married with a young daughter. When he isn’t spending quality time with family, he likes to ski/snowboard in the winter, cycle/play basketball in the summer, and remodel his home.
