
Do you have older, amalgam metal dental fillings? Invented in the 1820’s, these restorations were the go-to for repairing cavities until the mid-1990’s, when natural-looking composite resin became more commonplace. Unfortunately, however, while still very durable, amalgam metal is not only noticeable in the smile, but recent studies have found that having more than eight of these restorations can pose health risks.
